Cradle Mountain

On average you’ll pay 10% less compared to other sites for booking Cradle Mountain Accommodation on Wild Escapes.
Cradle Mountain is located in the Central Highlands of inner Tasmania within a national park of extraordinary natural beauty. Rising to a height of 1545 metres it is Tasmania’s fifth highest mountain and one of the island’s most popular tourist attractions.
Cradle Mountain is usually accessed by walkers from the car park at Dove Lake. It’s a pretty strenuous hike and some sections involve scrambling over loose boulders for several hundred metres. Local guides recommend you allow 6 or 7 hours for the round trip. You’ll be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views of the mountain and Dove Lake from the summit, and if you’re lucky you may spot wombats, peregrine falcons, and maybe even a Tasmanian devil along the way. The 2-hour walk around Dove Lake, with its wonderful boat house, is a good option if you’re looking for something a little less challenging.
Most of the rooms in the area are pretty basic although luxury accommodation is available.
