There are 15 words in the Fijian language meaning Heaven and ‘Yasawa’ is the first word. Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an exclusive luxury resort on one of the most remote and unspoiled islands of Fiji. Just 18 luxury bungalows are hidden among the palms, each just a few steps from a pristine white beach. Swim in crystal clear waters, dive on vividly colored corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji’s first beachfront spa. Whatever you choose to do at Yasawa, you’ll do it in complete seclusion.
What makes Yasawa special and unique is our access to 10 private beaches for romantic beach picnics; activities like the Blue Lagoon Caves visit and most importantly our authentic culture… the majority of our staff come from the local villages and are truly excited to share their island and their culture with you… visit the local school, meet the Village Chief, partake in the songs and dances of the local villagers. It is these moments that will stay with you long after you leave Yasawa’s sandy shores.
The easiest and most reliable way to travel to the resort is via our daily air charter service. This scenic flight is approximately 25 minutes along the west coast of Vitu Levu; over the incredible reefs and up along the Yasawa group of islands. Please see our Rates page for more information.
English is widely spoken throughout Fiji and at the resort.
There are no banks or ATM machines on the island or in the villages. The resort does accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express at a surcharge of 2.5%.
Power in Fiji is 220-240 volts with a three pin flat plug. Plug adapters are sold in the resort boutique.
Complimentary wireless internet access is provided throughout the main complex, but we ask that you consider the experience of your fellow guests and refrain from using your electronic devices in the restaurant during meal times and in the bar when other guests are present.
Tipping is not a customary act in Fiji and the resort management and staff are not permitted to accept gratuities directly. If you wish to thank the staff for their service and hospitality, a donation to the Staff Christmas Fund would be greatly appreciated. This consideration is not mandatory and entirely at your own discretion.
Bure (boor-ray) – it’s Fijian for Sanctuary. Our 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Hidden among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and iPod docking station; a hammock strung between the palms; incredible views of the ocean, and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa’s famous white sand beach.
At Yasawa there’s no such thing as a standard room. We start with six Bure Suites that set a luxurious benchmark with their modern styling, open plan and ocean views. Scattered in pairs among the palms, they share just one adjoining wall and are positioned for privacy – the only thing you’ll see and hear from inside is the ocean.
Deluxe Beachfront Bure
On an island as remote as this you can have all the space you want. Yasawa’s 10 Deluxe Bures are vast and free standing; offering ocean panoramas from inside and out. A split-level design creates separate living and sleeping areas inside, while broad decks, shaded day beds and private outdoor showers extend the living space outside.
The name says it all – Lomalagi (LO-ma-lang-ee), another Fijian word for Heaven. Hidden from the rest of the resort at the end of a deserted white beach, Lomalagi is a private retreat with its own horizon pool overlooking the ocean.
This is Yasawa at its best – absolute luxury and complete seclusion.
Two Bedroom Bure
Perched on a rise overlooking the rest of the resort is the expansive Two Bedroom Bure. With two separate bedrooms either side of a large central living area, the two bedroom bure is ideal for two couples travelling together or a family with older children.
Its elevated outdoor deck provides magnificent views over the island and out to sea.
