A Wilderness Retreat bounded by the World Heritage Barrington Tops National Park and the Williams river frontage - a place to escape from the normal hum drum of modern day living, re charge the batteries for a day or 2 or 3. With wonderful fresh air and crystal clear water. Witness the early morning mists in the mountains, or go and find a special place and see the early morning and evening sun sets, night offers spectacular stars, and with a abundance of wildlife and flora -all of this is only 228k north of Hornsby, NSW Sydney. Local towns offer a variety of specialty stores cafes, old fashion country pubs - drop in a see some local talent work by our Artists at DAS (Dungog Art Society.)- there is so much to do walk, swim, explore, wonder around our grounds and go swimming in our swimming hole or simply find a nook and read a book or even watch the moss grow.
Salisbury Lodges has been operating now for 23 yearsand is under going some changes- it has now come of an age where it was built to be a wilderness retreat - it has achieved this goal with its unique access to the World Heritage National Park and established grounds making it blend with its environments. It still continues to be hosted by its original owner builders, Joe and Phillippa. In the past it has won many awards including Hunter Regional Awards for excellence in Tourism, several finalist for Best Restaurant in its category and WINNER in 2009. We no longer compete but still offer the same standard and service Araluen Restaurant has in the past won many awards and is still continuing to offer a high quality product- but it will not longer be open7 days- it will open on Saturdays and/or for more than 6 persons by arrangement- please do not hesitate to ask. They welcome visitors to this unique part of the world to enjoy nature as it should - our luxury is the location, fresh air, crystal clear water, fauna and flora.
Studio Lake Lodge
Studio apartments, like being in your own private tree house over looking a lily covered lake. They share a common wall with lovely private balconies, 1500 spa bath in a unique slate bathroom, a well equipped kitchenette with stovette, microwave. They have TV with DVD player, king split bed . There is a balcony at the end of the building - the lake has lilies, long neck turtles, ducks water dragons , and bass can be seen rising early morning. The sound of the river can be heard clearly along with a natural melody of bird sounds - at night take in the stars.
Deluxe Spa
Unique spa rooms with rock exterior , there is a common foyer sharing with one other room. The rooms are not large but comfortable and you will get a good nights sleep and they have there own fridge, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities. The BBQ area is share with other room - with a bbq each provided for both rooms. The veranda is long and has outdoor furniture for each, out side room. The views are of the bush and gardens with lots of visiting birds. There is a Pot Belly fire (fire restrictions apply) on the veranda and for the relaxing read a book a hammock has been provided.
Williams Chalet
A great lodge for friends or family to get away and be together- this great mountain lodge has three (3) bedrooms three bathrooms, 2 separate lounge areas, full kitchen including dish washer and ice fridge with lots of breakout areas and views from all windows. It has a under cover large BBQ and its own private back yard. Oh and nearly forgot large open wood (fire restrictions apply) - all linen is supplied but please bring swimming towels. It caters for a maximum of 10 persons.
