Kateland is set on a 288 acre estate along side the Tamar River is ideally located, allowing for scenic drives - only 10 minutes drive from Tasmania’s northern beaches and adjacent to the picturesque township of Beauty Point.
Guests have exclusive use of Kateland’s primary residence.
This homestead was initially constructed in 1920, and an additional wing in the 1960s. It was extensively restored in 2005 and 2006 with luxury period furnishings.
The residence features high ceilings, creating a large sense of space, typical of buildings of Kateland’s era. Artworks featuring Northern Tasmanian landscapes adorn the walls.
Open log fires are prominent feature, along with beautiful views across the private gardens.
Kateland’s primary residence features three bedrooms.
The main bedroom features a luxury king size bed with northern, waterly views across the gardens.
Queen and King single split beds are supplied in the other two well appointed bedrooms.
All beds are fitted with electric blankets, and bedrooms with wall mounted electric heating.
Kateland has two bathrooms, one in the northern and one in the western wing. The northern wing bathroom features marble tiles, with floor heating, a claw-footed antique bath and modern shower. The western wing bathroom has a combined bath/shower. Both bathrooms are supplied vanity mirrors and a range of complimentary toiletries.
The kitchen features modern appliances, within a traditional, large country kitchen layout. Dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee plunger, cutlery and crockery are all provided for guests use.
Complimentary breakfast provisions featuring eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, bread, milk and yoghurt and refreshed daily.
The library is a small room, adjacent to the dining room. It has views across the English gardens, and is a perfect place to relax and reflect. The library features highspeed, broadband access, fax, desktop PC and printer in case any last minute work activities are required. Kateland also receives mobile phone coverage from Telstra.
The dining room sits six amongst federation-era furnishings.
The centrepiece of the dining room is an elegant hanging crystal chandelier. A traditional log heater provides cosiness during the cooler nights.
The drawing room looks out across Kateland’s rose gardens, and is the perfect space to unwind after dinner. The room features a large traditional fireplace, two chesterfield lounge suites and other federation-era furnishings. Stylishly and unobtrusively positioned is a flat-screen high definition television to provide a modern convenience.
The sitting room leads off the kitchen, and provides a beautiful vista across the English gardens. A large open fireplace provides for a relaxing and soothing scene on a winters night.
