Nestled in the Rocky Cape National Park on Tasmania’s north-west coast, Sisters Beach is a sleepy beach resort and a perfect hideaway destination if you want to escape the busy world for a while. With a native population of just 400, you will often find that you have the wide, white sandy beach all to yourself.
There are many interesting walks in the area, and the untouched national park which surrounds the village on all 3 sides has abundant wildlife. It’s the only place in Tasmania where the Banksia Serrata tree grows naturally, and there are several caves in the vicinity, some of which were used in the past by Tasmanian Aboriginals.
Luxury accommodation is available in cosy cottages dotted along the beach, but there are no restaurants in the Sisters Beach itself. The Killynaught Cafe, Rocky Cape Roadhouse, The Crossed Spoon Cafe and the Detention River Brasserie are all located with 12km of the village.
