Wynyard

Wynyard is a pretty rural town on Tasmania’s north-west coast, about 17km west of Burnie. Sitting at the mouth of the Inglis River, this relaxed seaside resort is a perfect getaway with luxury accommodation available in riverside motels and on the seafront. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from serving up wholesome locally produced dishes.
With its patchwork fields, the surrounding farmland with tiny villages dotted along the country roads is beautiful all year round, but the area bursts into colour in spring when the tulip fields are in full bloom. Fishing, kayaking, golf, and lazing on the beach make Wynward an attractive holiday destination.
Near to the town is the dramatic Table Cape, a volcanic hill rising 170 metres above the sea with a lighthouse still in operation today. Freestone Cove and Fossil Bluff are also popular spots for exploring – you may even find a fossil or two.

Blythe River Conservation Area Covering approximately 900 hectares the area is home to many species of birds
Rocky Cape National Park Aboriginal heritage, ship wrecks, rock formations, beautiful hills running down to the sea and an incredible variety of flowering plants.
The Vale of Belvoir Widely recognized as one of the most important places in Australia for conservation
